Expedition shuttle 0021 journey into the ocean trench fails when the shuttle falls adrift. 

With their lives on the line, the crew request immediate backup. 

In the meantime, they need to maintain what's left of their submarine; 

with orders coming directly from command they attempt to survive long enough to be saved.
